2012 – present
When I lived in Kyoto, there was a bamboo forest just behind my backyard.
Every morning, after my zazen meditation at the Datoku-ji buddhist temple,
I would walk to that forest.
I was amazed by the vast array of colors.
Subtle differences between shades that remain un-named in the West
gave me a sincere feeling of the world.
‘Liminals’ does not represent reality nor does it attempt to
create the illusion of reality; rather, it suggests its very essence.
